Air Moldova is one of the most recognized Moldovan brands, being founded by presidential decree on January 12, 1993.

Air Moldova operates direct flights to 33 destinations in Europe, Russia and Asia such as: Athens, Barcelona, ​​Bologna, Brussels, Bucharest, Dubai, Dublin, Geneva, Istanbul, Yekaterinburg, Florence, Frankfurt, Larnaca, Lisbon, London, Krasnodar, Kiev, Madrid, Milan, Moscow, Paris, Rome, Venice, Verona, Vienna, St. Petersburg, Tel Aviv and Turin to which are added the seasonal races – Antalya, Dalaman, Heraklion, Tivat and Sharm-el-Sheikh. The company offers two classes of service – Econom and Business.

At present, "Air Moldova" accounts for about 50% of the passenger air flow registered on the Moldovan market.

Air Moldova is a member of IATA and ICAO.

On 13 July 2004, Air Moldova became an International Air Transport Association member. Air Moldova has also passed the operation safety audit and received the IOSA operator certificate. In May 2006, Air Moldova implemented e-ticketing on all its flights. The Air Moldova air operators certificate permitted the transport of passengers, goods and mail as of July 2007.

Air Moldova occupies the leading position in the field of e-commerce of tickets. Starting with December 15, 2004, the company implements the reward program for frequently flying passengers – "Air Moldova Club". For the convenience of passengers, "Air Moldova" successfully implements intermodal transport, which involves air and land travel. In 2008 the company launched the "Air & Rail" program on the Chisinau-Frankfurt destination, which was later extended to the Chisinau-Moscow and Chisinau-London destinations.
