The Arrival hall at KIV has been expanded

The major concern for the airport managing company Avia Invest is to transform the only international airport in the country into one of the most competitive in the region.

That is why, with safe steps, the terminal of Chisinau Airport gets a new look with modern accents.

The arrival hall of the airport has been expanded with a new two-storey building of 2740 m2. On April 28, a segment of the arrivals hall with a total area of 1150 m2 was given to work. This area is a new construction, designed according to the latest technical schemes. Now it has a new, modern and elegant image that contributes to creating a pleasant atmosphere for those arriving in the country. A ceiling overlooking the sky is an absolutely new visual element that plays a natural setting, providing extra brightness inside.

In addition, the number of entries was increased from 2 to 5 and the number of passport control points from 8 to 16, doubling the space up to the control booths. Thus, the border crossing has become more operative and convenient, which effectively contributes to the avoidance of agglomerations in this area. What has not been available so far are two rooms equipped with modern furniture for those who need a rest, a space for people with reduced mobility, equipped according to international requirements and a lift for transfer passengers.

We remind that the water supply and sewerage networks, the electrical system, the flight information panels, the CUTE passenger and luggage registration system, the video surveillance system for access control and security alarm, the system were completely renewed. A next step regarding this vast project of modernizing the terminal is the renovation of the old arrivals hall. The administrator company implements the most efficient solutions so that the comprehensive development program of Chisinau Airport is successfully implemented in time.
