Wizz Air conference

Yesterday, during the conference with Avia Invest, Wizz Air, the largest provider of low-cost flights in Moldova, announced the 68% expansion of the company's operations in Chisinau, adding another Airbus A320 aircraft to its air base.

The commercial director of the low cost company said he was very pleased with the collaboration with Avia Invest and with the support offered. Therefore he decided to continue the investments in this area.

The new aircraft will arrive at Chisinau International Airport in December 2018 and will serve the 5 new routes announced: Memmingen, Dortmund (Germany), Paris Beauvais (France), Copenhagen (Denmark) and Brussels Charleroi (Belgium).

The number of flights on the most popular WIZZ flights from Chisinau will also increase: London-Luton, Milan-Bergamo, Venice-Treviso, Berlin-Schönefeld and Rome-Ciampino. At the conference, the commercial director of the low cost company announced that Wizz Air will have more than 70 employees and will contribute to the indirect employment of over 500 people. The following flight crew recruitment sessions are scheduled for July 10, 10 and 22 of August in Chisinau. Attending the event, the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Chiril Gaburici appreciated the successful collaboration between Avia Invest and Wizz Air and said that this partnership is important and beneficial for all those who choose to travel through the Capital Airport.

Wizz Air started operations in Chisinau International Airport in 2013. As for the company's investments in its base in Chisinau, they will exceed $200 million, and in 2019, by expanding operations, the company will provide passengers to Chisinau International Airport with over 700,000 places on flights in 13 destinations to 8 countries.
